The Rockets made it a third consecutive victory on Sunday night with a resounding 8-2 victory over Glaswegian outfit Paisley Pirates.

Rockets opened the scoring just 4 minutes and 17 seconds into the game through Sean Beattie with John Dolan and Sam McCluskey getting the helpers. At the halfway point of the first period Lewis McIntosh doubled the Rockets lead off of a great pass by Charlie Scott. The Rockets then got 2 quick fire goals in the 16th minute from John Gordon and Deniss Kontseus bringing the Rockets to a 4-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

Another goal was added to the lead 11 minutes into the 2nd period with Jack Henderson finding the twine. Deniss Kontseus added to his tally with another goal 3 minutes later, then Michael Ireland made it 7-0 to the Rockets with 3 minutes and 42 seconds remaining in the 2nd period.

The Pirates did not back down, finding their first goal of the night through Ryan Campbell at 46:52.

The period was goalless for the next 9 minutes, until Craig Peacock tipped the puck in to the net, bringing the scoreline to 7-2. The excitement didn’t stop there, with Rockets Grant Reekie dropping the gloves with Paisleys Jay Herd in the 54th minute, to which Reekie comfortably landed solid blows and got the takedown. Pirates Michael Dobson was penalised for hooking at the 57th minute of the game, and it took Deniss Kontseus less than a minute of the powerplay to complete his hat-trick and add the insurance marker on for the Rockets to complete the game with a final scoreline of Dundee Rockets 8-2 Paisley Pirates.
